I have been meaning to write to your clinic for several months but hadn't had the chance til now. I came into Critter Care in January just looking to see if I might spot the dog for my family and I. After walking the kennel there was one little black and white collie that never shyed away from me and my kids and she wasn't barking either. So I asked the man to let her into the open area to see how she would do with my 3 year old and 7 month old. After she ran a bit she came over and licked and sniffed them both and nestled up to me before running some
more.

I liked what I saw. So I told my husband that I thought I had found the perfect pet for our kiddy household. Unfortunely, my husband I lived in Memphis and the clinic would be closed before we could return that day for my husband to meet the dog. But you guys were so kind to stay around and let us in at almost 6pm. Once we arrived I was shocked to see that your staff had went as far as
grooming the dog and putting bows in her hair. My husband immendiately liked her. She let us yank her tail and pick at her like a baby and toddler would and had no aggression. The only problem with her was her long coat. So we asked what it would take to get her shaved down some. You all agreed to do it for free and allow us to pick her up that coming Monday since it was Friday. We had no idea if she was house broke or what her past was. But we liked what we saw. Monday came and we went to get her.

Nowdays Shiner as she was known at the kennel is now DIXIE DO...she is a wonderful mothering little border collie cross female dog. She amazingly is house broke...never one accident...she doesn't bark unless a cat is in her sights...she loves to play with the kids and is very very loving to all ...she doesn't dig or run...she loves everyone she meets....and her favorite place in the whole house is our 10 year old daughter's bed...which she immediately claimed as her throne...THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR KEEPING THESE DOGS AND ADOPTING THEM OUT....WE LOVE DIXIE ! SO VERY VERY MUCH....she even has a adventurous spirit...she has taken up trampolining with the kids....yep that's right she loves to bounce on it...jumps up on it herself...and if you ever come in the house she greets everyone with a cute little yoddling bark that is quiet but affectionate. AGAIN WE LOVE DIXIE THE DOG ONCE KNOWN AS SHINER TO YA'LL. We never thought we would be able to replace our little cocker spaniel that died 4 years ago to a tick disease but we found her at CRITTER CARE....thanks again for all you do.

Thanks so much for holding Ellie, the Australian stumpy-tail, for us for a day. She is already permenately intergrated into our family. What a wonderful little spirit. The enclosed box of candy is a little taste of Santa Fe.

Dear Connie,
You should see Tater. You can not find where the snake got him or where you shaved him. He is putting on weight and looking good. Connie, I can not say Thank you enough. Thank You for loving and caring for Tater. I know if it was not for you we would have a grave, not a loving dog.

Dear Dr. Connie & Precious Staff:

Today we adopted Romper from you, by the time we got home with him we were completely in love with him. Stephen was so kind to bathe him and make him smell so good for his new family. After about a five minute tour of the house and checking out his new pack mates he was ready to rock and roll. Romper, Zeus and Wookie all became fast friends and were soon running through the house having a great time. Toys are of great interest to him so we will be purchasing some smaller toys tomorrow, since Daisy Mae is the last puppy we had in the house and her toys are all larger than he is.

When we moved here last year we were convinced we would never find a vet like we had in Dallas, or the loving staff that he has. We were so wrong, Dr. Connie and her staff are better than we ever imagined. We are indebted to each and every one of you for the loving care you have showed to our pet family.

Last month I had to rush my dogs to Critter Care on two seperate weekends. The first time they had been shot with a shotgun & my little female mini Aussie was full of pellets. The other weekend, my two male dogs had tangled with a porcupine & had quills all inside their mouths. Dr Lindley met us there both times ( once on a Sunday & the other time on a holiday). She didn't seem to mind at all.
I'm hoping that the next time my pets decide to mis-behave, it will be during the week, but I'm sure glad to know that Dr. Lindley is there for us, regardless the day or time. The fee was very reasonable for overnight stays, Xrays, treatments & medications, otherwise we may not have been able to seek help for the precious members of our family :)
